Over the past 20 years, the snowmobile has almost replaced the dog sled. There are many ways to experience Sisimiut´s backcountry, but on a guided snowmobile tour you have the opportunity to get far away from the city in no time. The secluded winter wilderness suddenly becomes more accessible. For instance you can drive to the top of Solbakken (394 m.) or the spectacular view from the K6 Advantage Point. If you have petrol in your blood and love adrenaline, then a snowmobile tour is the perfect way to get out and see nature around Sisimiut. We offer different routes, depending on how long you want to drive and where you want to go.
Snowmobiling to the top of Solbakken
Duration: 1 hour
Price: 850,- as guide’s passenger, 1 150,- on your own snowmobile, 1 500,- for two on one snowmobile
Experience the beautiful view from the top of Solbakken approximately 394 m above sea level. From here, you can see Sisimiut at any time of the day – we can drive here at sunset or at night to see the northern lights if we are lucky.
Snowmobiling to the first fjord viewpoint
Duration: 2,5 hours
Price:
1 person: 1800,- as guide’s passenger, 2 300,- on your own snowmobile,
2 persons: 1 500,- for two on one snowmobile
3 persons: 3 500,- with one person as guide’s passenger
The trip starts with a course towards Solbakken, which is the city’s ski slope. Then we drive further up through Flaskehalsen (bottle neck) and out to Udsigten, the viewpoint. If the conditions allow, we drive down to the 1st Fjord and cross the ice. After a coffee/hot chocolate break at Gunnars Camp, we go back home the same way.
