We set sail from Hotel SØMA dock in the boat “Malik” to see the archipelago around Aasiaat. Together we will explore these waters, whale graveyard and the icebergs up close. Maybe we even spot the whales, emerging to the surface to take a breath. Sea Safari is almost a must when visiting Aasiaat. Hotel SØMA lies on the very shore of Disko Bay and its private dock is a starting point to many sailing expeditions. Hop on board of our speedboat and our clever guide will make sure that you get the best out of this experience.
Visit a settlement

Together we sail 25 km east along Langesund, main land under Aasiaat. We will visit the settlement of Akunnaaq, which is beautifully located on the top of a cliff. You will get the chance to explore an authentic Greenlandic settlement and enjoy the view over the Disko Bay with great icebergs drifting by.

Do you want to try catching fresh cod fish? We can set sail to one of the many fjords near Aasiaat, so that you can try your skills with a fishing rod. Please inquire at the reception to hear about the possibilities.
