SØMA Restaurant in Nuuk is looking for a service oriented and positive head waiter that will help to create welcoming and unforgettable atmosphere for our guests.
About the job
We find it important that as our new head waiter, you are a service minded person with leadership experience. You are able to quickly get an overview of a situation and reorganize to stay on top of a busy day. You will also have the opportunity and responsibility to inspire and motivate your colleagues to develop and gain new skills that are needed to provide good service consistently to our guests. On the daily basis you will have responsibility for the SØMA restaurant and service.
Main tasks
- Hiring (together with other leaders) and train new employees
- Teamwork and delegating important information to kitchen staff
- Supervising other colleagues to create best possible customer experience
- Etiquette training
- Deep understanding of our menu and wine card, to help our guests choose the best pairings
- Finding new ways to reduce waste and increase staff effectiveness
About you and your qualifications
It is expected that you are an optimistic and flexible individual that is ready to work with a variety of tasks and challenges within your shift. We expect that you can work independently while being a team player. It is a plus if you have an experience with customer service and conflict management. You should be good at keeping calm in stressful situations and at communicating with different types of people. At last, you can speak fluently English and Danish, while it is a plus if you speak Greenlandic.
