Experienced Hotel Manager with a desire for adventures

Hotel SØMA Nuuk is searching for Hotel Manager with experience, to execute both new and existing strategies with thoughtful leadership and skillful business understanding. You will be in charge of leading and developing a team of dedicated employees and running the day-to-day management of the hotel in accordance with our values and purposes.

Who are we?

Hotel SØMA Nuuk is a unique and well driven leisure and business hotel with 30 employees, 45 rooms, restaurant and a lot of activities and guests all year around. We are raising the bars of hotel service and strive to deliver “a piece of Greenland” to all of our guests.

We are a part of Hotel SØMA, which is Greenland’s eldest chain of hotels with more than 50 years of running hotels in Greenland and currently in 4 destinations on the west coast. Hotel SØMA Nuuk serves several purposes as both the business travelers’ favorite, the living room of the locals and the tourists gate to Greenland’s beautiful nature, amazing adventures, and welcoming people. Most importantly, we are a ‘home’. A home based on good Christian values, where there is room and hospitality for everyone.

About the position
As our new hotel manager you will be in charge leading and developing the hotel, so that the full potential is reached. Your tasks will among other consist of:

  • Implementing existing strategies and developing new – in collaboration with the Regional Director
  • Hiring, training and motivating employees for a high service level and a high pace
  • Control the day-to-day management, reception, restaurant, cleaning services and hotel maintenance.  
  • Secure a welcoming atmosphere and a high customer satisfaction
  • Create and retain a positive working environment with focus on collaboration
  • Support and retain the hotels Christian foundation, values and purposes 
  • Plan the hotels activities

Mandatory demands

  • You have relevant experience from leadership roles and preferably from the Hotel industry
  • You want to experience the amazing life in Greenland and live in the beautiful capital, Nuuk for at least 3 years
  • You are able to work and lead employees on the foundation of the organizations Christian values and purpose
